CCNP® (Cisco Certified Network Professional)

CCNP® is one step away from CCIE®. This Cisco Career Certification was created for individuals who are required to install, configure and troubleshoot complex Cisco based networks. Areas of expertise include LAN and WAN routing, dial access servers, LAN switching and VLAN management. Cisco issues a limited-term certification for CCNP valid for three years. Re-certification every three years is mandatory and demonstrates to the industry that you have maintained your skills and have kept pace with Cisco networking technology.

  1. Do I have to have CCNA certification before I can get my CCNP certification?

    Yes, testing requirements from Cisco stipulate individuals must pass the CCNA certification test prior to taking the CCNP certification tests.

  2. If I have a CCNA network design certification and I acquire the CCDA certification can I go into network support and pursue the CCNP certification?
